  Recently, members of my family had the need to pursue an Estate and Family Provisions Claim in Sydney, complicated by the fact that the four siblings involved all lived in states other than NSW. Local knowledge of quality solicitors and barristers thus counted for nothing. The family was very fortunate to be referred by one of its younger members to one of his old and trusted University classmates, who practised as a partner in a law firm in Epping, NSW. James Coelho of Coelho & Coelho was a patient, empathetic and skilled legal advisor from the start. Estate and Family Provisions claims are complex and stressful for most people, much less when the difficulty of communication renders regular face to face meetings impossible. Multiple individual telephone calls and the internet became vital tools in ensuring a practical understanding of relevant NSW law. James’s patience added to his knowledge of the law enabled him to get the message across to all concerned. He was successful in brokering a mediation meeting with all parties involved. His recommendation of barrister, his advice to the barrister and the barrister’s excellent skills and empathy with the family ensured a very good outcome, preventing the otherwise inevitable escalation to what would have been a very expensive court case. His own legal fees were very reasonable, particularly taking into account the extra time required to meet the individual needs of his widely dispersed clients.
